Have you ever felt that there was more to the Christian life than what you are currently experiencing?

Jesus said that He wouldn't leave us, but He would send another helper, the Holy Spirit who would give us power to live the Christian life.

The story is told of a person who sold a farmer a chainsaw. He told him it would cut down 50 treest in a day. A week later the farmer returned to the salesmen unhappy. He said you've sold me a "dud", it only cuts down 3 trees a day. The salesmen took the saw and pulled the cord. It started with a "Bzzzzzzz" noise. The farmer demanded, what's that noise?

The story is comical, but at times Christians can end up living their life the same way, powerlessness!

In Acts 1:8 we are told that we whall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon us.

Power to Witness 

The Holy Spirit gives us power to witness - just look at Peter's life. He was transformed from peter the wimp to peter the apostle as a result of the fulness of the Holy Spirit.

Power to Live for Jesus

 Galatians 5:25 We are told to kepp in step with the spirit, and as we do this, we won't fulfill the lusts of the flesh. The Holy Spirit is our helper, He empowers us to live the life of a follower of Jesus.

Power to Pray 

Romans 8:26 tells us that when we don't know how to pray that the Holy Spirit intercedes for us.  

The Holy Spirit at work in a believer's life is what transforms Christianity from just an observance of a moral code, to  a living vibrant relationship with God.
