Keep Viligiant watch over your heart, that's where life starts. Proverbs 4:23

Bad things will happen to us, things that we often don't have any control over. But the condition of our heart is something which we have the power of affect. If our heart is good, this will affect every area of our lives.

One translation of this passage, tells us that the issues of our lives flow from our heart. The condition of our heart will determine the outcome of our lives.

In other words

If our heart's not good, life won't be that great.

If our lifes's not that good - it's likely that are heart also isn't in great shape.

What are we doing to take care of our heart?

1.  Keep Your Heart Full of God.

Matthew 6 tells us that if we seek God first, he will look after the needs of our lives.

2. Keep Your Heart Pure

In Ephesians 6 it tells us to put on the shiel of righteousness(which is Christ's righteousness). A shield protects our heart, and in the same way Jesus righteousness will also protect and  keep our hearts pure.

3. Keep Your Heart Generous

The bible tells us that if we livbe generously, He will bless us in all we do. Deut 15:9-11

3. Keep Your Heart Joyful

A heart full of joy is like good medicine. Proverbs 17:22

5. Keep Your Heart Soft

Problems, pain etc can cause our hearts to harden, because we put up defense mechanisms to shield us from further pain. But this will only worsen the problem.

Let's be people who watch over the condition of our heart, and allow God's best to flow in our lives.
