Many people have read the book, and now it's come to life on the big screen, "Narnia, The Lion the witch and the wardrobe."

We find that Lucy has discovered the entrance to another world, through a wardrobe. But her discovery wasn’t greeted with enthusiasm.

How often have you heard the words "I don’t believe you"?

Lucy heard these words ...

She’s making up a story

A jolly good hoax – (playing a trick on them)

Lucy was teased by Edmund about what she believed.

There are many aspects within the story of the Lion the witch and the wardrobe which are a picture of the Kingdom of God.

The wardrobe - the entrance to another world, a Kingdom.

In 1 Corinthians 2:7-10 we see that God has many things instore for us, and we can't even begin to imagine them with our nature thinking. But God has revealed them to those of us who seek after Him.

"No one's ever seen or heard anything like this. Never so much as imagined anything quite like it. What God has arranged for those who love Him? But you’ve seen and heard it because God by His Spirit has brought it all out into the open before you."

Jesus tells us that He is the door to this Kingdom John 10:1-10. Some people have trouble believing this. Thomas, one of Jesus disciples, had trouble believing that Jesus had come back from the dead.

"I won't believe it unless I see the nail wounds in his hands, put my fingers into them, and place my hand into the wound in his side."

So are we just supposed to believe?

Matthew 16:17 gives us a guide to this: God will reveal Himself to us, and the reality of His Kingdom.

Look at the context of Matthew 16, starting from Verse 1:

One day the Pharisees and Sadducees came to test Jesus claims by asking Him to show them a miraculous sign from heaven. He replied, You know the saying, Red sky at night means fair weather tomorrow, red sky in the morning means foul weather all day. You are good at reading the weather signs in the sky, but you can’t read the obvious signs of the times.

Look at the signs around you!!
  • The sign of creation
  • The sign of people’s lives
  • The miraculous
  • The presence of God

May each of us pause long enough and reflect upon the signs that God has and is giving to each of us!
