Here's how Metro is changing lives in Vietnam. Paul and Deborah Hilton Paul and Deborah Hilton have been a part of Assemblies of God (AOG) World Relief in Vietnam since 1996. Vietnam is a communist country. Hence there are restrictions on sharing the Word of God freely and openly. There are however, no boundaries placed on demonstrating the love of God in practical ways, which is what the Hiltons have been doing through a variety of projects, many of which we support. This has greatly enhanced theirs and other Christian organizations relationships with the government, not to mention the amazing relationships they have built with the local people. We believe these projects contribute not only to seeing individual lives changed, but will also unlock the door for the gospel to be preached openly one day. The Hiltons are now the leaders of AOG World Relief in the Pen-Asia Region. Child Sponsorship Children are the future of any nation. At Metro we strongly believe in supporting the children of Pan-Asia through child-sponsorship. Currently we have five Vietnamese children sponsored through AOG World Relief and are about to double this number. Sponsorship exposes these children to the love of God and provides for their daily needs, education and a hope for the future they otherwise wouldn't have. Heart Operations Life Changers has financed a number of urgent heart operations for children in Vietnam. These children would have died without the operation. Our hope is to be able to finance more and more heart operations and other urgent medical procedures. Love of the Arts Centre
The Love of Arts Centre is in Vietnam and was founded by Paul and Deborah Hilton. It is a great way to show the love of God in a practical way. The aim of the centre is to “Make Life Better for disadvantaged and poor children by showing the love of Christ in a practical way. Initially the centre focused on training children with musical or artistic abilities, but has now grown to teach vocational skills such as the English language, computers, graphics design, handicrafts, carpentry and picture framing. Children, who are disadvantaged as a result of being orphaned, poor, physically handicapped or living on the streets, qualify for the program. All of the centre’s training is aimed at breaking the poverty cycle in which the students are living, by giving them the skills to be successful in the workforce. Life Changers will be funding the centre with resources and will sponsor individuals to join the program.
