Many of us celebrated Father's Day in one way or another on the weekend. I got breakfast in bed, new coffee cup(how I love my coffee). Then I also gave my dad a DVD player, and some John Wayne DVD's. He asked me how do you rewind the dvd when your finished!!!

I love what the bible says in James 1:27 about pure religion!! It sure blows some misconceptions out the window.

"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this, to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneslef from being polluted by the world."

What's missing in this verse? the role of a father. We have a generation around us who have been described as fatherless. So what's the answer? God wants all of us, male, female, young, older, to have a "fathering spirit". To take care of others and help them in this journey of life.

A person with a fathering spirit
loves unconditionally

put's others first

looks to others furure(which means we believe in them and a hope and dream for what God has instore for them

waits for the wayward children

I reckon it would be amazing if all us had a fathering spirit - helping others to connect with Jesus and find their God given purpose in life.
